Wow, that really is awesome. Always great to hear stories like these. Thanks for sharing and congrats!

Been working on my credit a long time. Just recently it got good enough for a mortgage, almost ready to close, lender did last pull today.
I immediately call CU #1 and applied for regular Visa because I wanted to get my $1100 back from my secured & a higher CL. They said I was in A category, eligible for 8.79 with $8,000 limit - yeah! when I got my secured card 16 months ago my score was 525.
Then called my new CU I joined thru new job 5 months ago. Said I was elible for 4.99, i think, and tomorrow I'll find out if I get the requested $10,000 limit.
Wow, 770 score really opens doors! That's it. I don't need any more cards. No more obsessing over my scores either, just monitoring a few times a year.
Congrats. You have beaten me on CLI at unsecure. My BofA secured went to 7500 unsecured from 500 secured. You got 8k unsecured.
Way to go...
Well, now I have to keep myself happy so I will remind myself that though I got less CL than you did, I got it CLIed to 10k in about a month.
Definitely nothing to sneeze at. Great job!

so we both had a $7000 increase
Well, in a way yes. But I tend to count it like you got 8000 and I got 7500 CLI as I believe we had no credit from the bank (500/1100 was our money, not what bank trusted us with).
That aside, congrats on a job well done. Another proof of the fact that good track record even if its short can reap some good rewards.
