Re: Veni, Vidi, Vinci, Visa or How to Master Your MasterCard

BK=bankruptcy.

If your last negative entry on your CR was a last pay in 2003, you should be eligible for a garden-variety unsecured CC (i.e., one with a $29-39 annual fee, but no outrageous "account setup" or "monthly maintenance" fees.). I would get two if I were you. Your credit limits would likely be in the $500 range, which is fine to start.

If you get the cards in August, they should start reporting by October. Keep balances low and payments on time. With no major recent baddies to anchor your score, your FICO should start increasing by the end of the year as your on-time record improves your credit. Along about February or March, ask for a CLI and you should go up to $750 to $100, with your FICOs firmly on the mend.

Thank you. I will apply and let you know what happens.

And thank you for defining BK. I don't have one of those.

Hey - I just applied for the Rolling Stones Chase card, and my application was approved. Thank you!

Now I just have to pick another one...

Might be hard to prove. They might not even know the first time they were fathers.

Poop. My credit score took a three point dive as a result of the inquiry when I applied for the Chase Rolling Stones Visa. Will using the card as you suggest make up for the drop, do you think?
