My question is for those who better understand and/or know these things better than I do. With frequent spending of 20-30k a month, which of these two cards is better for general spend. I am giving one of them to my assistant to pay for some reimbursable business expenses, but I am not sure which one would generally be more adventageous. Historically, I have always used my Amex Platinum, however, I am questioning whether the Venture might be a better reward?
Im looking for travel rewards, if that helps. I can transfer the points to airlines/hotels, etc: What I am really asking is the overall point valuation better for amex or venture?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
This chart is a good tool to determine the points value of various programs. If you transfer the Amex MR points to airlines/hotels (which you should) the MR points are worth quite a bit more than the Capital One points which are entirely on a reimbursement basis. Even better would be using a Chase card that earns UR points :-)

Also remember to take earning rate into account. In this case, venture earns 2c per $, and MR earns a minimum of that, higher on category spend, but when comparing the rates in general, 5x a lower rate can beat 1x a higher rate!
