Re: WF > Visa Signature

While the WF card has 5% in the first 6 months, keep in mind the redemption minimum is $25, and basically $25 increments, so one needs to ensure that one reaches clear $500 levels on category spend during the 6-month intro to make any sense.

Then, after the first 6 months, the 1% earned rewards also require $25 increment redemption, meaning one must spend in $2,500 tranches to get any rewards for that tranche. Those points begin to expire 60 months after they are first earned as well, so one cannot dawdle in getting to the $2,500 level. (my likely response will be to treat it as a zero rewards card)

I keep getting this card as an offer when I log in to WF, and keep telling them to "remind me later". Also got another paper mailer for this card this week. Someday I may have a 6-month period where it will make sense to get this card, but not on the horizon yet.

Re: WF > Visa Signature

I got a college version rewards card and while the design is quite nice (card design I mean; I don't have a visa sig sadly), the rewards are practically nonexistent. I honestly just throw on an auto pay charge on their to keep it active and occasionally swipe it here and there to show them some luv, but I've got far better cards now. That being said, I'm forever grateful to WF for getting me started on my credit journey by issuing me my first unsecured cc with a pretty generous limit ($1.2k) fresh out of high school with virtually no credit history.
