actually some have reported being closed down, even after complying w/the f/r. i don't know if they had something to hide or not, but they indicated otherwise and given amex's rep on the matter i'm leaning towards beleiving the person who was willing to let amex snoop.

Maybe the financials that they provided Amex, reports that they make a significantly less amount than the amount they reported on the application?

They could have just complied in fear of actually losing the card, hoping for the best.

Re: WOW! F/R'd TWICE IN 3 MONTHS BY AMEX!!!!

So I went ahead and faxed over my 3 most recent paycheck stubs.  Amex asked to send it along with a fax cover sheet which included my name, account number, attn: credit department, re: financial review and to add to the body of it any statement I would wish to help in aiding in the quick processing of my financial review.

Dear fellow Centurion,

In response to being the privileged few "selected" for Financial Review, here are my 3 most recent paycheck stubs that were requested of me.

I would greatly appreciate the priority processing of this matter.

I usually only bring my American Express card to work with me, and i cannot purchase any food to eat today.  I am starving.

Thank you very much for your help.

Well this is what I am worried about.

App was for income xx.
Amex said fine. No problem CL = x.

But then got new CC and CLI.
So income is still xx and total CL is xx.

So my F/R concern is that, what if Amex says ya know, too many CC's your Amex is now closed. It's not about hiding income or not being able to show it. Just that I'm worried I might just push things over the edge. Not that I have done anything wrong but when Amex gave me my CL I had less over all CL. As with Amex F/R they don't seem to reduce CL they CLOSE the accounts. If Amex said you know what we want to take back the CL we gave you, that would be fine for an outcome of F/R. But Amex could just say account closed like I read from others. Then I am left with no Amex accounts.

As of now my income does support my overall CL but adding another Amex card could push that income to available credit a little tighter than Amex might be comfortable with triggering an F/R. At least that is how I view the possibilities. I don't think you have to be in the wrong to get hit with F/R.

Re: WOW! F/R'd TWICE IN 3 MONTHS BY AMEX!!!!

I've read about AMEX giving CLD to people whose other CCC give them CDL. I think that is just irrational. Does this really happen?

Also, my mom has been with AMEX for four years now. I asked her if she has had a F/R, she said no. Thinking she doesn't know what a F/R is, I further explained the process to her, and she still said no. So I honestly do not believe F/R's are accidental or random.

Re: WOW! F/R'd TWICE IN 3 MONTHS BY AMEX!!!!

I have a friend that filed Chap. 13 October of 2007.  AMEX did not cancel her card.  Her card is a charge card.  She charged a computer about 2 months ago.  I don't know what criteria AMEX go by when they do a F/R.  I would think they would have cancelled her card.
