Guys im pretty surprised, shocked, and extremely happy.
i decided to apply for the amex zync card and was instantly approved. i was shocked then thought let me test my luck. so i decided to apply for the gold delta skymiles card and was taken to a page which said call us back. i thought my luck had ran out. their offices were closed so i decided to check my application status. and it said approved to both. I thought this is great espescially since i have only had 1 year of credit history and 40% util. however its gonna be great to cancel my wells fargo secured card.
Yeah i thought the zync would be a long shot with that util but then the delta. i said well let me call it a year haha.i think the fact that my new job and its income is what really helped me out.
congrats
Congrats on the approvals! Great cards to get your hands on!
Wow they turned me down on zync....650 FIFO and 28% utl. Discover didn't have an issue with me. B of A doesn't have a problem with me. Both gave me cc after Amex denied me. I'll just roll with disc and B of A. Amex has irratied me for the last time.
i think the thing that helped me is that i inflated what my actual income is. im currently in college so whatever my parents give me i used that as income aswell as what my books and tuition cost. i feel like amex may be very income based in a decision because thats the only way i see how i couldve gotten these cards
Be careful, because if you get picked for a FR you'll have an awfully hard time proving that your actual income matches what you put down!
well the good thing is if that happens worst come to worst i can have my dad say that i work for his company saying that what i put down is my current income. which is what i put down. so hopefuly there are no rough seas ahead.
Congrats! I'm also a college student and was approved with a year of history for the Delta Gold card. It seems that it's one of Amex's easier revolving cards to get as many people with short history have been able to get it. If I were you I wouldn't misstate my income on any further apps though.
