WaMu Visa

Hi All,

So, I am rather confused right now.... I recently opened a new WaMu Account, and received a pre-approval for their platnium Visa... FYI, about a week ago, I got a $2500 CL MC from WaMu... I know I want 1 more credit card, so I applied... Well I was denied???
Anyone ever have this issue? Ever do a Recon with them?

Thanks!

Re: WaMu Visa

Last year I applied on line for a Readers Choice card serviced by WaMu. They immediately turned me down because I had received a card from them in the last 60 (as I remember) days. The good thing is they did not do a hard inq.

Re: WaMu Visa

I believe WaMu has a one-app-per-90-days policy.  Anything more than that will be an instant denial.

Hopefully, you wouldn't have gotten another hard pull for the second app, though.

Re: WaMu Visa

Hmmm... Maybe that is why... Should I wait til I get my denial letter and call or should I call tomorrow to find out?

Thanks!

You can call, no problem they will let you know the reason then and there.

Re: WaMu Visa

Yes from my understanding you can have 2 WAMU cards (I have visa and mastercard) but they must be 60 days apart...
I want to join the 700 club one day I am getting there :smileywink:

Re: WaMu Visa

I thought for sure it was 90, but everyone seems to think it's 60.  Hmm.  Maybe it is 60.

Re: WaMu Visa

I app'd last month for the Petsmart Pet Perks Visa and got denied by Wamu for having a cc with them opened within the last 6 MONTHS.  At least it wasn't a hard inq.

Re: WaMu Visa

As soon as I opened both a Wamu Visa and a Barclay's Master Card, both companies immediately stopped sending me additional promo offers.   Which is a good thing, but that would support the "don't app again for at least 90 days" comments.

I requested that both HSBC and CrapOne stop sending me promo offers (I did NOT opt out by the way), and after a few weeks, both DID stop.

So now, 1 year post BK, I am not receiving any promo offers at the moment.   Which is fine by me.  I have all the credit I need right now.
