Wait time between applications for Amex

I applied for an Amex Gold about a month ago and received a bogus reason for denial (delinquent account) as my reports are clean.  I spoke with a CSR and all they did was read off a script and repeatedly told me to contact Experian if I had questions in regards to the information provided to Amex by them Smiley Indifferent.

So after triple verifying that everything on my EX is clean, I want to give it another shot.

How long do you have to wait inbetween applications if you're denied?

Thanks.

The number 45 comes to mind... but it's been a long time since I had that information to be sure

Re: Wait time between applications for Amex

I recall reading somewhere (maybe Amex FAQs) to wait 90 days between applications.  But since your report is clean did you try for a recon?

Yes - try the recon route! For sure.

Nothing to lose at this point.

Re: Wait time between applications for Amex

One of my Amex denials letters says you are welcome to apply again in the future but please wait 30 days before submitting a new app. I think if you try before then you get an instant notice something to the effect that you have already applied in the last 30 days or something. Probably with no credit pull.

Yep, it is 30 days......this was the response I received earlier this month after being declined.

Applicants who were not approved for a new account at one time may qualify in the future. You are welcome to apply for any of our cards,
but please wait at least 30 days before submitting a new application.

Re: Wait time between applications for Amex

I called the rep when I was once declined and they informed me that they have changed it to 90 days...

Re: Wait time between applications for Amex

That 90 day thing may no longer be true because I was declined for Costco Amex on 3/25 and approved for Amex Platinum on 6/5 this year. Aftermath, I would just give it a go and see what's what. Good luck!
