WalMart Card

A friend of mine has a 649 TU score w. Some good TL, 69% LULL on all cards. He has one CO that will come off 11/12 and one Collection 11/12 that will come off and should increase his score, then he will be left with One collection will come off 09/15 and one in 08/13. After the two accounts come off what are the chances for Walmart card or Discover?

From what I read on here, your friend should apply for wal-mart card now at the STORE and not online. It seems the chances are better at the strore.

The card will definately grow with your friend's credit score even if you get approve for $200-300. Plus, a free TU fico score monthly.

2013 Approvals: Discover IT - 3/1, Amex BCE - 3/4, CSP - 5/4, Barclay Ring - 6/12, BoA Privileges Cash - 6/27, Citi TY Preferred - 8/6, OCCU Duck - 11/4, USBank (Cash+) - 11/22, Wells Fargo - 12/21, Nordstrom - 12/29

12/19/2013, $100k+ Available Credit. Total Util: 0-1%

Re: WalMart Card

Once those baddies come off, I would say the chances are pretty good. I have been recommending that people apply in store but YMMV. I applied for the Walmart Card in July of this year online and was denied. Applied 90 days later during a special promotion and applied IN THE STORE (zero percent financing on electronics over $429 dollars). Made up a bogus story about wanting to buy a tv and take advantage of the promo. I also applied in the electronics section as opposed to checkout thinking I might get a higher initial credit limit. IT WORKED! Approved for $2100 dollars. I immediately called the backdoor underwriters number and got it increased to $3700. I highly encourage people to apply IN THE STORE. The approval odds and credit limits are much better. I'm 13 months post BK7 with a 659 TU (Walmart FICO). Still have a few baddies from 4 years ago. Annual income 80,000. 20 inquiries on TU when I applied!!!!!! Numerous new accounts and still got approved. YMMV but my gut instinct is that an approval is forthcoming.

Re: WalMart Card

I have a 700 (which isnt good) but my walmart card is at 22.9%.

I have never had any bankruptcy's, high debt or anything. So be careful with them. I do know that the lowest is 300 dollars to start out with. good luck!

People on here have reported $150 and $200 Cl....so 300 isn't the LOWEST they'll start you out with; but at least they do supposedly grow very easily and gernerosly over the months/years.

Current: Eq- 624 Ex - 631 (lender pulled) TU - 661 (lender pulled)
Goal 700+ across all three

I would recommend waiting until the 2 collections are off his reports then applying in store.

Re: WalMart Card

I was denied with a 686 tu score sold here with only 6 mos history and 4 positive trade lines reporting. Only had one small baddie that falls off early 2013. My denial letter stated collection account. I applied online. However with the holidays inching towards us I'm sure the approval criteria will go up applying in store.
