Sorry for the CLD, if this is the best they can do with the upgrade,
I would just let it go and keep the store card.
I was so happy to see the automatic "you've been chosen, blah, bla, bla" I assumed they would increase my limit, even though it was just increased earlier this month and hasnt yet hit any of my credit reports. Now I am seriously considering not activating it at all considering it would lower my over all age of accounts. I just dunno what to do exactly.

Don't beat yourself up over this, from what I have read, the upgrade doesn't have
many perks and I see you already have the real Discover card in your siggy,
many have posted that because of the hit on AAoA and new account ding, would
have declined the offer, Just do what you think is right for you!! Again, best of luck
with whatever you decide
I accepted the offer for two reasons :
1. I only had the store card for 7 mos and the AAOA hit wasn't an issue - plus I have a thick file
2. It would probably help me with keeping the TL. I am not a big fan of WalMart and I would dread each time I had to make my obligatory charge in the store. This way I can use it for a Starbucks reload and show usage
edit: typo

Excellent points. My Wally is about to hit the SD. The CL isn't budging and I'm not a huge fan of Wally (I actually prefer Target by leaps and bounds). So the Discover would keep me around.

That is exactly the reason I never have or will accept it.
