Does anyone have an incite as to why Sams Club and Walmart are discontinuing offering Discover cards? Are there any other banks that will be issuing these cards or will it only be Discover Financial Services? Thanks for any and all replies.
MC problably is giving them lower swipe fees, than Discover, and MC is more popular and they hope to cash in by giving out rewards, and the program isn't half bad.. they just have to break my habbit of pulling out my usual cards at other places.
5% on gas (has a limit)
3% on dining
1% on everything else.
Sam's Club definitely is squarely aiming at Costco TE with this card! And it's a good program.
As far as why there's a switch to MC, it seems like the folks at MC are pushing very hard into the cobranding market, as well as their other solutions, like EMV chips. Target will also be switching the grandfathered Visas to MC. At the same time, it doesn't seem like many cards are cobranding with Discover anymore. Since I'm still on Discover's blacklist, this is also why i don't have any cards that use the Discover network.
