Walmart cc denied due to bk

I thought they were bk friendly? My bk was discharged in december. How long do i need to wait to apply?

is that what was stated on your denial letter? whats your tu score? was anything else listed on your denial letter?

My denial letter said denied due to bankruptcy. My tu 98 score is 581

Yes a Walmart card with 120 dollar balance. I didn't include them in my bk but they closed it on me anyways and wrote off my balance

Do you currently have any other cards? After my BK, I got a CapitalOne unsecured card about 2 months post discharge. It was my only card for almost three years before I got the Carecredit card. I included 2 (or maybe 3) Capital One accounts in my BK.

I recommend giving Capital One a shot. Good chance your CL would not increase but they will at least give you a shot back into the credit world. They have the unsecured (which I was able to get with $19 annual fee) and secured options. Other options are Orchard unsecured and secured cards. You should also try your local credit union.. I'm a big fan since they gave me a car loan with a sweet interest rate 3 years post BK

Cap 1 turned me down because I filed bk On them. I have new credit with a few companies. I wanted the Walmart card again so I can get my credit report each month for free.

They declined me as well in November 2011 - it had been 2 years since filing my BK at that time....I had 2 CC reporting my scores were in the upper 600's at the time and the only thing the denial stated was BK...I had had GE cards in the past - all closed - either at consumer request or due to inactivity....so thought I would wait and try again this year after that inquiry hits the one year anniversary....my only concerns is that I did start a 12 month loan last month from one of the local CU's that I belong to to help with my current credit "mix". Keep your head up and keep trucking along.
