If you are already a Costco member you could also apply for the AMEX TrueEarnings card, which has no AF as long as you are a Costco member and gives cashback 3% gas (including at costco), 2% restaurants+travel, 1% everything else.

Your credit is solid and you should get both cards. Apply for CapOne card first as venture card is for people with excellent credit.

I wouldn't apply for the amex BCP if you do the bulk of your shopping at costco. The groccery benefits do not apply to wholesale stores like costco.

I am a costco member and they take my venture card. The accept visa, MC and discover in addition to amex.

That's a new one- I'm a Costco member and they only accept my Amex or pinbased Visa/MC

Every Costco that I have been to in California has been AmEx or debit only, and only TE can get you more than 1% back on Costco Gas.

Not sure I am based in NY. I will have to double check next time in the store, but i know the costco.com website specifically says it accepts the cards I mentioned.

09Lexie thank you for suggesting the AMEX TE card  and thank you to databender for mentioning the rewards for gas limitation on BCP.     I was really considering the BCP card until databender mentioned that the TE card is the only one with 3% back on gas at Costco.   This is a huge benefit for me since they are building a new Costco less than 2 miles from my house.  I liked the BCP because it was unlimited gas but I didn't see the small print about places like Costco being excluded.   This restriction would have been a serious negative.   You guys have really helped me make a much better decision.   I will definitely max out the 3% on the costco gas portion and restaurants will also be helpful.   I am going to app for the Discover and the AMEX TE card.   Best part is if I don't get the TE card for some reason it will only be a SP .

Yes, the website is different. All major credit cards are accepted on Costco.com

OP, good luck when you choose to app. IMO, you are an instant approval for Discover and TE. It's best to app in the warehouse for TE- Amex won't have to wait to verify your Costco membership.
