Well this scares me. I have 3 AUs right now. Didn't add them all in the same day but all in the same month. Just helping a few family members get off their feet. Fingers and toes crossed so many times. My Cap 1 is my main card.
I just added my third today. The others have been there a few weeks. I'm shaking in my socks and crocs over here! I don't have an issue verifying them but god I just don't want the hassle.
I understand you are helping others, but your account is your first and foremost priority. I would let the AUs know of the situation beforehand, but I'd definitely call and drop all the AUs immediately. Tell C-1 that you wish to drop all AUs from your account, then send them what personal information, on yourself, that they are requiring. You should be able to resolve this quickly. You can add the AU accounts back at a later time. Something caused this and threw red flags up, perhaps, if not you, someone else?
This makes me wonder if I should swipe my own card every now and again. My wife is an AU on one of my VentureOne cards...only her card is ever swiped for that partiuclar account...I don't think I've swiped my own in about 5 or 6 months on that particular account. Am I over thinking this? Do you think CapOne cares that only the AU card is the only that's ever swiped again this account?
Thanks for sharing, and it would be a frustrating situation to get the accounts locked.
But adding 3 AU to one account? And you had another thread where the CCC required you to call in to add the AU because it could not be done on line? How many AU there?
As I said in the other thread, I'd be fine with the bank wanting to verify that I was indeed adding a single AU. Adding 3 at one time? yeppers, CapOne would be acting nicely to confirm that you indeed intended so to do. It is annoying that they would lock the accounts, but it's in your best interest to help them understand the situation.
Wow never heard of this lockdown from any lender due to AUs. Well except that one time someone got shutdown by Amex for selling AU lines.... Geez, hope it works out for you!
Question CA, did you issue cards to them all? I didn't for any of mine. They get to piggyback in name only, not usage.
So sorry this happened to you!
