No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I hope this is ok to post again where it will probably get more exposure versus the general credit board. If a moderator could delete my original over there it would be very much appreciated.
Received the email earlier now just waiting on the membership package to arrive in the mail! I'll probably keep a steady relationship with them and see if they'll preapprove me for a credit card. My other credit union right now is Genisys but I wasn't to happy with the auto loan rate 14% they offered even though I have a collection on the report they pulled (EQ). I wound up just paying outright for the car $800 down from $1400 and just got new brake lines put in, but anyway I'm thinking of maybe heading away from Genisys and maybe going with Penfed or someone else. Congrats though to everyone else that's joined DCU and are happy with their service and loans. Always open to other suggestions for credit unions to join also. Just thought I'd share
Also looking at joining Northwest Federal CU but their site isn't cooperating in letting me join. I sent them an email though and hope to hear back soon (have a nice 7% starting personal loan rate).
I started thinking it might be better also to find a CU that doesn't pull EQ with the collection on there until 11/15.
PenFed pulls EQ
Edit to ask: Did you have to join an association to become a member with DCU?
Yeah I've been hearing DCU may go easier on you too with a collection after some time.. maybe Penfed down the road or maybe join and wait a few years to apply for CC.
I have both Genisys and DCU and DCU is far more generous to me than Genisys for CC's. DCU gave me a 7500 CL and Genisys gave me 900 so go figure. The only thing I can see is that Genisys cards are issued by Elan so that could play some part in it.
As for the car loans, Genisys was much better than DCU. I guess that's why they say not to have all your eggs in one basket .
But as for Penfed, I thought that the credit critieria was stringent in that you need really good credit....not completely sure so check up on that.

Yeah I think I counted about 9 organizations you can join with dues from $10 Reach out for Schools (the one I joined) up to $120 but most are in the $15 to $30 range.

Done, and congrats on the approval.

Cool thanks!
I read a lot on here that DCU is generous with CL so I am thinking about apping once my new accounts age
Thanks Rhaeny -
That's what it sounds like with Penfed. I might just wait and maybe look at them again further down the road. The one CSR at Genisys was ok to work with but it seemed like a few others I talked with didn't really want to be bothered. They probably can't do too much for me right now, but it sounds like both CU's are working out for you pretty nicely.
Thank you much tinuviel -
I should be able to figure out that box quote, but I'm not exactly sure how to do it..lol.
