So last week before 1:00 AM Sunday I went online and Apped Kohls. They approved me $300. Fine. they had food processors on sale and I wanted one and I figured with all the mix and match discounts I could get a good price.
So by their direction I went to the store ID in hand and ended up not getting the $150.00 Cuisinart I wanted as I forced myself to realise really will not be using it that much -I opted for the food network one and buying a blender- total transaction $103.
Put it on the Kohls.
Received $20.00 in Kohls cash at the register (10.00 for every $50. spent) so figured I would go back and buy whatever and use them up. Received another $5.00 Kohls cash in the email as my acount was Online.
So Saturday I trudge to Kohls and buy some not real necessities for around the house just to use up the $25.00.
Try to charge the remaining $6.00 and it declines please call in.
So I put the 6.00 on the NFCU charge that just got CLI-ed and thought nothing of it, maybe there was a glitch.
had to return one of the items I bought today (wrong size) and while I was returning I figured I would call in and see what the probelm was:
"Yes new accounts is showing they closed your account Monday."
What?
"Yes they approved you but when they ran your score, they decided to close your account."
"OK. Will the existing money charged be a demand for PIF or will I be able to pay to account terms?"
"You can pay as account terms."
Very Well.
So I had an account with Kohls for under 36 hours?!?
I know I have a sucktacular score due to utilization, but funnily have no lates whatsoever on my account.
My Utilization is still above 75%- I have made great inroads since it was at 99% at one point before I got out of cars.
Still-- kinda funny.
So apparantly you can apply on a weekend, get approved, do some shopping then get declined.
But I got a food processor.
happy processing.....9 years from now this account will be really good for your AAoA.....for a year
Thanks!!

Just the crust?
If you're planning to put something inside it, I heartily recommend making it a pecan pie. Yum.
That, or apple - lots of cinnamon!

Sounds fabulous.
More seriously about your Kohl's experience, I sympathize with the high util woes - been there myself. If the CLD's ever reach my accounts, I may be there again for a while, as I've got some cc debt I'm working on, too.
Congrats on the progress you've made on yours.
