Got my Wells Fargo Platinum Visa in November 2011, decided to try for a CLI to see if they'd match some of my other cards, since it was my lowest limit at $3000. From their website, there was not a means to do so on line, there was a number to call to make the request. Gave them a call last week, asked for $9000 (the usual 3X increase). They asked a few questions about income (mine, not household). I asked which pull, they said EX, which surprised me since the previous pull was TU (my best score). Anyway, got the non-commital "we'll send you an answer in the mail in the next 7-12 business days". Logged in to my Wells Fargo account today, and lo and behold, the CL is now $7000! Didn't get the full $9K, but I'm a happy camper! Especially since, from what I've read here, they can be very...conservative.
OK, time to head to the garden...and anxiously await what's going to happen with AMEX Zync!

Congrats thats a nice cli! Do you bank with them??
I have my home mortgage with them, but no other banking accounts with them. I also told the nice lady I spoke with that I'd like to match my "other" premium cards in CL, hoping she'd catch that sort of teaser to get a higher limit, LOL. Guess it worked to some degree. I honestly was expecting maybe $4500-5000 range.
So do they offer you an amount via soft pull and if you decline that amount is hard?

I asked them for half of my highest limit (which is $3000, so $1500) and the guy told me they would counteroffer, but I got flat out denied. My card was MAYBE 2 months old though, so I wasn't expecting anything, but it was a SP so I don't really care. The only reason I asked was because my cap1 was technically older than my WF, it just hadn't reported yet when I got my WF, so I was hoping having a higher limit would convince them to up me a little bit.
Congrats! Nice increase!
