Hey guys couple questions.

My girlfriend recently asked for a CLI on her Wells Fargo card. Got bumped from 800 to 1000. She feels like it was a waste of a hard pull for such a small increase is wondering if she should call backdoor and ask why so small, and try and get higher limit.

background:

She is a full time student with a full time job as well as a part time job (asked to stay on after an internship finished) with around a 30k income.

her trans is 780 and her exp is 720.

Her Wells Fargo Card has been PIF for around 18 months since she got it, and she has paid a $2000 dollar student loan off. 

8000+ in savings with Wells Fargo.

Planning on financing a new car in the next 6 months,

She wants the increase because the credit score we pulled up form EXP & Trans said her number wouldnt raise much with such a small CL.

Also what other cards should she be looking into? Discover more? Walmart?

Walmart is cool for the free TU score. The cards she should get really depend on her. Rewards cards should be picked based on your spending patterns (obviously this doesn't apply to cards with rotating categories (discover it/more / chase freedom) does she travel, or is she just looking for cash back?

Really the most important thing to her is getting a jump start on her credit history while shes still young so she can get prime morgatge and auto rates after she graduates.

Having said that she is intrested in a good rewards card.

Well if she shops at walmart then its worth it for the card. With those scores she can probably get a discover walmart (they pull tu) and that gets 1% on everything plus the discount at walmart gas stations.

The discover more is great, if she wants it tell her to try (make sure she applies for the student versikn of the more) and possibly the citi forward (also make sure for student version )

How is her aaoa?

Not great shes only had her a WF CC about a year and a half and her student loan was only reporting a few months earlier this year before she paid it in full.

Im guessing the short AAoA is why they only gave her the $200 CLI, is it worth it to try a recon on that?

you can always TRY a recon, it is never a guarantee of results though. If she tries make sure she says she doesn't want another HP on her credit. 

She can probably qualify for the discover more card, as long as she has no derogs on her report.
