Thanks 12njoy, that's helpful to know. I don't even know who they'd HP for a new app, maybe EX?
They have always done EX for me here in Ohio, but this last app a couple of days ago, they hit me with a TU HP. For me, they are only inquiry caution with their SP's. I have never had one of their underwriters question my inquiries during a HP.
lLike someone else said, they are great for banking, but suck for credit cards. I learned the hard way. Glad they denied me because I sure do love my Chase Freedom and BoA cash rewards.
Long live Wells Fargo

I just recently got a CLI with them and had to do a HP if I wanted to try with the credit specialist, denied for initial SP increase. They pulled Experian. Also I'm not sure how relevant it is but I see people posting their locations along with pulls, so if it matters I'm in Florida.
Seems like a lot of people here don't like Wells Fargo cards though. I mean there are some annoyances and I would agree that they aren't the best around, their card department does seem like a bit of an afterthought to the company. The main thing I got annoyed with was that I got larger SP increases with AMEX, Discover, and Cap1, so I was a bit frustrated that they needed a hard pull for roughly the same increase despite me having more history with them than any other bank (it's my oldest card), and the rewards and features are mostly pretty standard, but I still like it a lot overall because I bank with them. It's tied right to my account and I can transfer to it instantly, which was invaluable when I had very low initial limits and often had to pay things off right away to spend more. It's also just a nice reliable card, has chip & pin which not many of my others do so that could be useful for people going abroad. More than any of that though the cell phone coverage is a very cool benefit.
I'm also biased because they gave me a rather nice $650 initial credit line when I had absolutely no history at all and very low income. Even after I got that card none of the major guys would accept me un-secured until I got a substantial income increase and had more history. Because of that alone I'll probably always keep a card with them and use it for at least some things, they helped me out a lot and have given me no major reason to complain. Also I think their Signature card is quite pretty (Propel are really pretty as well imo), going to try to move up to that one next year if I can.
Hey B, i am going to be going through the same soon...will be hitting the AF in a couple of months. I gotta say WF has sure warmed up to me. I have their Propel and recently got appoved instantly for PLOC (10k...should have asked for more)...I had just closed the home rebate card and its funny how the CSR asked me if i wanted to move the limit over to the Propel before closing....I told him that would be nice but no thanks because you will have to pull my CR for that (a la BofA style). He said no and i assured him it will be a yes so he proceeded and after a minute he had to put me on hold...well he comes back and says he can try doing with a SP and i told him it would be a waste because i got denied a couple of weeks ago for a SP CLI request on my Propel. I really wouldnt mind the visa signature cash back from them with 0% APR for 15 months but i have read stories on other forums that if you had any other type of WF Visa card you may not be eligible for the intro offer and rewards.
Sorry B335is I'm no fan of WF I spent 20+ years waiting for that relationship to blossom it just never got there, but I wish YOU well and hope it all works out for you.
