Didnt effect my util reporting (still 1%), and the cards were just challenge cards the last few years post BK anyways. Not worth keeping them open, and maintianing them with a small $5-$20 charge monthly to keep active, plus the apr's were ridiculously high 24-27%.
Closed today: Grand Total.....$75,650
Kohl's----$400
Crate&Barrel....$18,250k
Neiman Marcus....$28k
Sears Mastercard....$4k
Dillard's AMEX....$5k
Ebates Mastercard....$12k
Banana Republic Visa....$8k
At the end of the year, Ill have 4-5 more, and then I'll be set. I feel good about this!!
Was definitely time for Kohls to go. BR might be good if you shop a lot at the Gap family of stores and don't have any of their other CCs. Dillard's doesn't seem like the best reward plan out there, so that's probably good, too.
I may do some pruning myself, once I get some zero balances back!
Congratulations on the purge Pizza!
Must be a great feeling to be able to close out and not even blink at it. I think your reasoning is spot on too -- building relationships with better lenders & better products.

Thanks to NFCU. I'm planing my prune session here shortly though. I plan on clipping 2 of the comenity cards so that total line with take a small hit and then I'll concentrate on building the relationship with NFCU and Alliant. Maybe $500K is somewhere within this year.
