Re: What Credit Card Do You Use When You're On a Date!?

More than impressing the date, I often times flash a certain piece of bling based on the restaraunt I'm going to. Capital Grilll gets nothing but the glitter. A waiter who gives mediocre service and who treats me like I can't pay or won't leave a tip, something black in color. Gas station subway etc, the Cap One low level...

If you're really trying to impress, I would think whipping out a wad of cash would be the way to go.  Short of an Amex Centurion or JP Palladium, I can't really see why a credit card would be that impressive.  Though I guess there are a few cards that could be a bad sign, like Credit One or First Premier.

That...or pulling out your Kimora Simmon's Rush card...lol

OR ive seen people pull out like 3 gift cards and ask the waiter or waitress "can you split the bill up between these 3 cards?" and then they get the look of death from the water haha

And be sure to use a coupon.

Speaking of coupons, that reminds me of a guy I went to school with. He asked this girl out on a date and frankly I was surprised she said yes. She was really nice, gorgeous, and quite progressive/independent. When the bill came she said that she wanted to pay half, primarily because she thought it was unfair that the guy is always expected to cover everything. He then pulls out a 2-for-1 coupon and said "Great, that's my half. You paying cash?" She was not impressed.

I knew someone who took a girl on a date and they went to Cold Stones afterwards for ice cream, and he planned on using a coupon, but then she got something that wasn't covered by the coupon and he got mad at her and started like freaking out.

Luv the Linux card. I don't think too women I date would even know what it was. They would see the cartoon penguin and think it's some kind of Disney type card and assume I had kids Smiley Wink

If you are dating someone other than a gold digger, it probably mostly doesn't matter which card you use.  If you are dating a gold digger, run away fast; You deserve better.  The cards I would avoid on a date would be Hooters, Orchard, Credit One, Household Bank, First Premier, and Walmart.  The average person doesn't know that the Best Buy card is sub-prime, so you'd probably be safe with that.

Don't be labeled as a geek, skip on the BestBuy card Smiley Happy

Is Best Buy really considered a "geek" store?  They sell all kinds of TV equipment, music players, appliances, etc. in addition to their computers.  Besides, computers aren't really solely the province of geeks anymore.

Anyway, I do self-identify as a "geek", but that was never a problem for me when I was single.  I never had any trouble getting dates before I got married.  I think times have just changed a lot and "geek" no longer carries the social stigma it once did.

As a 'geek' myself I think ladies out there tend to like the geeks specially the ones that have a good job Smiley Happy
