It's a charge.  Amex Charges are easier to get approved for than Amex revolvers.

Does anyone know if they will approve me with the 3 chargeoffs?  They are all over 4 years old.

Re: What Should I do?

Unpaid COs?

Edit: sorry, just read your first post. If your CS is high enough to overlook the COs, yes. Currently I think it would be a no. Maybe next year or when the util is much lower.

Settled for less- than probably no

+1 CC companies don't like to see this sorry

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: What Should I do?

I wouldn't say that... I have 2 accounts that were CO and settled for less than the full amount in 2009.  They're still on my CR, but as you can see from my signature I've still managed to pick up a few prime cards within the last few months.

You never know until you try.

Do you mind telling me what your scores were when you were approved? Or if they were higher than mine?

Re: What Should I do?

My scores are currently and have been hovering around the 650-660 range.

I had a couple Capital One cards for 3 years with perfect payment history, so I'm sure that helped... But you and I aren't so different.  Income is 40,000 with a rent payment of 850 a month.

Exactly! Try to limit what a lender would perceive as negative or risky. High util, inq's etc. You might have to recon but its better than a denial.

Edit: my lame attempt to quote.....I miss that feature. Smiley Sad
