Re: What are your top 3 credit unions and why?

if you live in the right geographic area or work for the right groups (again a limited situation) but I love First Community which is based in the St Louis metro area for thier interest bearing checking superb customer service and low fees basic credit cards. And the most competitive and efficient mortgages my realtor has seen.
Pen Fed has also caught my eye as a red cross volunteer but I havent applied.

FICO: 782(Ex, AMEX), Mortgage Pull(3.0%, 5/1 ARM from Local CU 2/2013): 725(EX), 757(TU), 772(EQ)
Cards: Amex BCE(19100), Discover(7000), Target (1000), PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa (8500), Chase Freedom(5000)
App'd: PenFed & Freedom Feb 2013, Amex & Target Jul 2012, Discover Feb 2008 Gardening til ???

Penfed, unlike NFCU, doesn't require a military relationship, anyone can join with a 15-20 donation to one of two charities.  That said, at least one of their cards, Defender, is restricted to military.
