Me too.  I had a lower EX with an old CO when Amex approved me for the Delta.

And I would add, no recent lates, certainly none within a year, and within two years to be safe.

my most recent late was 8 months old when I got mine-

But yes a year or 2 is better-

Unfortunately, I have a bk 2 1/2 years ago and I don't think his EX score is as high as mine (though it could be because we just paid a bunch of cc's off).
