Here the message received when wanting to apply. My Dad and DS have this card but havent received anything through mail saying that card has been discontined.
We get the message. "The Sport Chalet VISA in No Longer Available. If you are a current cardmember look for info. being sent to you regarding your new rewards program" I wonder who is gonna take over??
My sister can still access her acct through US Bank.
Just get a US Bank Cash+ visa signature card instead. then chose the Sporting Goods Stores category as one of your two 5% categories, and that will work on Sport Chalet purchases, as well as any other sporting goods stores such as Cabelas or REI.
Since its my dads and sisters acct what do they take in consider when PC to a card with better rewards?

If you mean you want to PC a US Bank card to a Cash+, you just call the number on the back of the card. The phone system has you enter the full credit card number, then you select the option for 'change card', and when a person answers the phone you merely say " I want to know if I'm eligible to change this card into a cash+ card". They come back on the line on 1-2 minutes and say yes or no.
It was as simple as that the two times I did it. I don't know if all US Bank cards are eligible to be switched. If they say No, ask what you would need to do to get it switched at a later date. Might just need a bigger limit, or a larger income, or whatever. Rumor says you need income of $30,000.
the only trick with the Cash+ is that you have to signup for 5% categories every 3 months. My parents are pretty much anti-technology (they just got satellite TV a few years ago, and their first flat screen TV last Christmas) so they could never handle signing up for categories. But for most people, its no big deal.
Ok sounds pretty simple, and when you do the PC there is no HP or is there a HP? Also will the open since date remain the same or will it report as a new TL?
My dad just got off the phone with a rep and basically said that the rewards are gonna change and its gonna convert into a points card 2 points at restaurants/bars and other rewards than cab be reedemed for cash back, travel ect. and US Bank is still gonna own the acct, he also said that new info as well as new cards will be issued by next year. If they can PC to Cash + they will do it if not then it will be ok either way.

No HP when I did it. It looks like the card was always a flexible spending account on my credit report. Its still the same credit line.
Of course, they do send a new credit card, and the number on the card does change.
alright thanks for the info they will really look into this, wont doesnt hurt to ask. So to conclude the thread the card will not be available for now since they are working on rewards and the card it self.
