Re: What if you get approved and decide you do not want or need the card

If you do some research on these boards you can get a feel when it is right to apply.

Zync is given out with a $200 credit limit and a $500 limit and those are easier to get.

The no limit on Zync is harder to get.

There really is no such thing as no limit.  Amex watches your habits and adjusts your credit limit accordingly.

There is lots of information on how Amex Charge Cards work on these boards.

Amex Zync NPSL 9/12, Amex CostcoTrue Earnings $10K 9/12
Amex BCE $3K 9/12 (Amex Back Dated to 1983)
Chase Sapphire Preferred $17K 11/12, Chase Freedom $7K 11/12
Discover More $750 11/12
CapitalOne Platinum Secured Card 2K 2/12 (Closed 12/12)
FICO: EQ = 804 EX = 802(Amex) TU = 801(Discover)

Re: What if you get approved and decide you do not want or need the card

Seems like with the 3 new Amex cards being backdated to 1983, your AAoA is going to go up  significantly.  Correct me please if i'm wrong here, but almost 30 years divided by the number of accounts reporting currently, your AAoA should be around 9 years?  Should offset the point loss for the inquiries at the very least. You should gain some nice points here?
