What is Discover's relationship with the NHL?

You can select a card design from Discover. 70% of the designs to choose from are hockey teams and the few other cards are just very plain and basic designs (the mix tape is cool). Just wondering if anyone knows what the deal is with this.

Barclays being the official Credit card sponsor of the NFL is meh, at best.
