Maybe it's a stab at GM cars??? Being as you can redeem for purchase of a new Chevy, Buick, GMC or Cadillac.

It looks like the only way to redeem is towards the purchase of a new car.  I was thinking the same thing you were...  5% back on everything sounds pretty darn good to me too.  If only it was for cash back!

Right. You have to use it to buy one of their cars. like I know what car I will buy many years from now.

 

Its not a joke card, it just those kinds of restrictive redemptions are bad. Its like that one card that could only be redeemed in certain casinos...

Also as a datapoint, I have read that few ppl  got really low limits on this card. (Around $600)
