Or they own a baskin robbins franchise.

In any case. It's interesting to see the different strategies.

Re: What is you strategy for using your credit cards?

I'm quite embarassed to say I dont have a stragedy in place...but then again I've never had any cards with rewards. Prior to joining myfico, my wallet consisted of:

Barclay Mastercard $1750

Capital One Platinum $2250

capital One (prev Orchard Bank) $750

Capital One $750

First Premier $425

Since joining myfico, my wallet now consist of the previously mentioned, in addition:

Barclay Ring $500

PenFed Promise $17,000

PenFed Rewards $5,000

Re: What is you strategy for using your credit cards?

  1. Primary CC for daily uses, this one has a reward system that fits the majority of my spending habits.
  2. One back up card for an emergency balance transfer or traveling with no foreign transaction fees.
  3. Lastly my first CC ever kept for nostalgia, AAoA, and if anything another emergency balance transfer.

Strategy is pretty simple -- maximize rewards.  Your post is actually about tactics.

Yes, you are right.

Thank you guys for sharing your tactics. I may be supposed to get a Sallie Mae for grocery purchases like some of you guys do, although I'm not a student any more.
