Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
In order of actual use, I'd have to say:
1. Amex BCP. It just feels good to use.
2. Barclay Sallie Mae. Just for gas and the occasional grocery not covered by BCP.
3. US Bank Cash+. Eating out.
4. Cap1 Quicksilvers for minor things online, just to keep active.
Barclay for Groceries (Target/Walmart/Publix)
Freedom for Gas (well right now since it's 5%, but when it's not, Barclay) and all other general spend
Freedom, It, CSP, Escape, United MileagePlus, Delta Skymiles, and Barclay Holland-America.
IHG Rewards Club MC - everyday card used as my goto card for any and everything
Sapphire Preferred - use from time to time while the first year is free then not getting used
NFCU CashRewards Sig - backup card
Resturants, CSP ( yes probably far too often)
Groceries ( BCP)
Gas Statations (BCP)
Need Cash - sams club Discover/MC
BCP everything else.
if CapOne treated me right, they could be the Everything else card, at 1.5% but only a 2k limit means I lack the freedom I like
1) CSP (everything not covered on sallie mae)
2) Sallie Mae
3) Penfed Rewards/Amex BCE
1. Fidelity Investments AMEX - 2% on everything
2. Sallie Mae MasterCard - 5% on groceries and gas
3. US Bank Cash+ - 5% on 2 categories
4. Amazon Rewards Visa - 3% on Amazon
5. Chase Freedom - 5% on rotating categories
6. Discover it - 5% on rotating categories
7. Citi Dividend Platinum - 5% on rotating categories
8. Best Buy MasterCard - 0% financing at Best Buy
9. Marriott Premier Rewards Visa - Free night once a year, extra points on stays at Marriott properties
This one is pretty easy:
Amex BCP for 6% on Groceries (+Gas)
Citi Forward for 5% on dining/amazon/bookstores
and BOA Travel Privileges for 2.2% on everything else
unless Discover or C. Freedom cards have a good rotating category, those cards remain sock-drawered.
