No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
depends on what other cards you have.
Since you have the Discover, Freedom is useless.
If you had the CSP/CSR + FU, this would def help.
IMHO the Freedom Unlimited better complements the Discover as it's a flat reward with the potential for bonuses through the Freedom bonus mall.
You guys recommend CSR and CSP. I never really considered getting annual fee cards as a college student. Would you guys still recommend those 2 cards if you guys knew I was a college student?
Oh yeah I'm starting to change my mind on getting FU since I already have Discover.
I disagree with the Freedom/It combo being useless. Surely, there is probably a better card to apply for I wouldn't disagree with that. However, and I don't recall the calendars, but don't the categories differ from each other usually? Like this month might be 5% on restaurants on Discover and 5% on Gas for Freedom. So, you can use both cards simultaneously.
Now it's definitely true that they may match up and thus one might be useless if you can't spend up the max on both cards. Or maybe they both will have categories that are useless to you in a given quarter (thus only returning 1%).
I wouldn't just write the Freedom off though. It's served me very well.
As long as the annual fee is within your budget there is nothing wrong with you getting a CSR/CSP if you can qualify. If you can't get a Citi DC I don't think you can get a CSP though.
Traveling is something great to do while you're in college and free. No reason not to have one of those cards if it will be useful to you. Keep in mind the bonuses on those cards require 3k+ to be spent in a limited timeframe though.

Freedom Unlimited with the Discover IT makes the FU useless.. LOLZ

Yeah travelling in college is like the one time in life you go on vacation with friends.
? I'm kinda new to posting here so maybe I'm mixing up some of the acronyms here. I fail to see how one makes the other useless tho unless the calendar is identical. Which it may be I've never really paid attention.

Yes, its $4k spend in 3 months. But outside the bonus, which is big on both cards, it might be hard for a college student to spend enough to get worthwhile rewards
