I purchased a engine for one of my customers delivery trucks, the engine was 10k. Needles to say that was a nice sale on that day for my store.
Well the biggest for me was $1000 on my very first credit card a really long time ago. It was a down payment at a car dealership.
@FloridaState12 wrote:Oh well if AU purchases count I'd have to count the $5.4 million dollar beach-front mansion I bought one day when I was 16. Mom was bugging me so I needed somewhere to get away; I figured, what the hey? I'll just charge this to their account and invite some friends over.
Also bought a Mercedes SLR McLaren to complement the mansion, but that was just a paltry $500k. Chump change, really.
This brought tears to my eyes
So Amex has this Mercedes Benz card. Assuming someone has a high enough CL, I wonder if you could charge a car on that thing. Now that's a big purchase!
20k on my Citi Secured MC for an air ambulance (coast to coast).
$20k coast to cost? You got yourself a deal. It cost $16k just to take HEMS from scene to a hospital, even if it's 30 miles away.
Biggest by far was $15,000 on Chase United Plus Visa for a new car down payment. I wanted the miles and had the entire amount ready to pay off the card. I got nervous about carrying a balance and paying interest so I sent a full payment in the next day. I guess I could have waited until the bill date (or close to) but I kept having visions of being in a hospital or something and unable to make the payment on time. I hate paying interest.
About two weeks ago I bought a Ninja ZX6... paid 4,000 cash then put the remaining 1500 on "newer" Discover as it is 0% for about 12 more months...
Just swiped $12k on a Rolex with a Sapphire Preferred, no problems at all. Prior to that, I *think* my largest purchase was at Montblanc for $8k, but I'm not sure. I've found out of all my CC's, Chase has the best CS and their rewards are better than Amex's. If I wanted to use my Amex, I would of had to worry about the charge going through, and then a dreaded FR. With Chase, if the CL supports the charge, it goes through.
Cheers everyone.
