Was the 10% miles back when redeemed for travel statement credit calculated into that? That's also why I like it.

That's where the .022 comes from.

G2G, thanks. And that's figuring you use all your rewards travel statement credits, right? I've never done well in math. I'm surprised I've made it this far in life, lol.

Right, these assumptions were redeeming for travel (on Arrival and Venture). Redeeming for non-travel makes the cards much worse.

What kind of retention bonuses you can get with Barclays Arrival or other cards? I just need data samples.
You can turn this card into a no AF card utilizing manufactured spending with little time/effort...I'm not sure why this isn't talked about more on myFICO...

Manufactured spending is a YMMV thing. It also has cost associated with it. They are fine if you need to meent spending requirement, but not so much worth it if you need to offset high AF.
If one modestly churned $2500 through the card every month at the end of the year you would be ahead $274 utilizing the Walmart / Serve option. So essentially there is no cost. Just my opinion though.

You can only load $200 per day, $1,000 per month with Serve. You would have to reload 23 times to offset AF.
And although AMEX is not charging a fee for credit card load at this time, it did in the past. And AMEX did shut down people who abuses credit card load.
