Re: What number is considered "too many" INQS??

Not to hi-jack the thread but I have 10 in the last year, 2 on EX, 6 on EQ and 2 on TU in the last year, and 5 new accounts, 2 I canceled. Is that too many? I also wanted to pick up a few more prime cards, is 6 months a good time to wait before picking up a few more prime cards?

Barclays Uber - 4% Restaurants, 2% Online Purchases/Everyday Card || PenFed Cash - 5% Gas || Amazon Visa Signature - 5% Amazon || U.S. Bank Cash+ - 5% Utilities, 5% Cable/Internet || AMEX BCP - 6% Groceries || WF Cash - Cell Insurance || Rotating 5% Categories - Chase Freedom, Discover It, Citi Dividend || AMEX Zync - For Fun!

I wouldn't think of them in total numbers, I would think of them in terms of each report.  If you apply to someone who pulls EX or TU, they are only going to see your 2 inquiries.  Amex, for example, typically only pulls EX (sometimes they pull more if an application is borderline).

Yes you can apply  w/o wanting a procedure. When I applied I didn't want the embarrassment of being declined at the dentist. I went on their website  and there was that option. I applied and asked for $5000 figuring that amount would never be accepted and they would counter offer. To my surprise they gave it to me. This should bring my Util down and give me better CL on prime cards in the future. If you don't use the card within a year I have read they will close it. I have a Cap1 $500, Orchard $500, Walmart started @ $700 now $900 PayPal SmartConnect $800 and Discover $1000 my oldest acct is the Cap1 @ 1 year. I have 5 late house pmt now home paid off, 1 pd tax lien from 07. These were from when I became permanently disabled and @ the time no income.

Discover IT $17k / US Bank Ace (VSig) $13.5K / US Bank Cash+ (VSig) $13.5k
Sam's Mastercard $15k / Walmart Mastercard $10k / Blispay $7.5k PayPal Ex MC $10.8k
CareCredit 5k / Husq $5k / Cap1 QS $4.5k / Barclay Ring $5.35k / Citi DC (WMC) $12k
