I just started with a $500 Walmart store card
should I swipe under 10% UTI or should I max out and PIF
i want to be able to get a CLI every 4 months and was wondering
whats Walmart policy. What do they like to see?
if somebody has experience with them let me know.
What is your credit look like? If you do not have any recent baddies you can do what I just did. I have had the card less than 30 days. I also started out with a $500 limit. I called the backdoor number and asked for $500 cli so that I can take advantage of the 18 month free financing on electronic purchases of 429+. You could try that. I personally put 175 purchase and I will PIF in a couple days.
I do have a JCP that I never requested a CLI since 2001. It started out at $200 and went down to $100 due to inactivity. It was increased to $800 once I started using it mid 2011. Last month I got a $200 CLI bringing it to $1000. I will also request CL from now on. Also, I will say that if you PIF and use it at least every other month you will get CLI. I would use it less than 30% of total CL and PIF every month. Just whats worked for me YMMV!
Tips to get an increase:
1. Charge it to the max!
2. Don't pay your balance at all
3. Rack up super interest (my favorite)
4. Threaten to close the card
5. Wait for their reaction!
LOL I'm kidding If you keep your line pretty active and PIF every month, you'll see an increase right around the corner! You can call them every four months to request a CLI. They are always soft pull so it won't hurt your credit. GE is generous!
I started at $600.00 in August. Some use the first month (about $220), $540. this month and will probably have light to moderate use after that. I PIF before the due date and will either use the online button or call in every 4 months. I put it to use this month. Figured there would be no reason for an increase if I only put $100. Ono it each month.

I just started building credit 5 months ago, i don't have a credit score yet, just a credit report
I'm now in my 2nd statement with walmart
i have no baddies, always under 10% UTI and always PIF
what number should i call walmart? the personal account? commercial account? or the underwriting ?
If i get denied, how long before i can apply again ?

I believe its 60 days with GE related accounts...correct me if I'm wrong.
should i go for the advice and ask an immediate CLI from $500 to a $1000 or wait for the 4th month ?
what happens if i click on the automated CLI button on my account but it gives me an error i can't make any request? is it like a denial or just i can't use this feature at the moment ?
