Re: What's your Discover CLI history?

I wasn't a part of those gravy train months, however Discover has been very good to me. 😁

Re: What's your Discover CLI history?

Don't really know my history before 2013, as that's all my Transunion shows right now in detail. I think I started out with either a $500, $750, or $1000 limit.

5.5k 08/13 -> 9k 12/13  ->  12k 5/14   -> 16.5k 12/14   ->  18.5k 4/15
  19.5k  5/15   -> 19,750 06/15  ->  25,750 9/15  ->  31,750 11/15   -> 37,750 2/16

May 2015: $13k, $14.5k
June 2015: $16k
September 2015: $19k
November 2015: $25k

The CLI button was due for some pushing last week but I wasn't sure how Discover handles requests when the CL is at $25k. Declared income is $55k but I really don't want to go through the hassle of tax documents and bank statements. Also, don't need a CLI right now. But you know, the itch can be back any time.

BTW I'm also carrying a balance, typically between $2k-$2.5k over the past 10-11 months because of the 2nd term 0% promo APR. PIF once around the 6 months mark then built up again. They seem to be okay with it. I generally pay off a third and rack it up again.

After looking at so many $25k+ CLs, I went ahead and pushed that button. +$3k, so now I'm at $28k.

Discover is thus the single largest credit line (not counting the AMEX PRG) on my profile.

Re: What's your Discover CLI history?

I have a joint Discover.

Getting a CLI is a bit of a pain. They are never automatic on joint accounts, though they can be SP. Both account holders have to call in, and they go over the finances of both people (mortgage, income, other accounts). Only after about 10-15 minutes on the phone can the CSR even state whether a HP is needed.

I don't need a giant CL on the card, but seeing the CLIs others get automatically (or with just a few clicks) almost makes me want to apply for an individual account to get a taste of it.

I hold back, though, because it would make very little sense from a rewards perspective.

Re: What's your Discover CLI history?

May 2013 - $2,000 Starting Limit
Jan 2014 - Auto CLI of $200, new CL $2,200
Apr 2014 - Auto CLI of $400, new CL $2,600
Jul 2014 - Auto CLI of $400, new CL $3,000
Apr 2015 - SP CLI of $1,000, new CL $4,000
Sometime between April and May 2015, I must have received another SP CLI of $1,000 (I don't have this documented).
5/8/15 - SP CLI of $1,000, new CL $6,000
5/24/15 - SP CLI of $1,500, new CL $7,500
6/9/15 - SP CLI of $1,500, new CL $9,000
9/10/15 - SP CLI of $3,000, new CL $12,000

I haven't requested any CLIs since 9/10/15 because $12K is plenty for me, but part of me is curious to see how high I could take this.

    I was use did you put on the card?  You must really use your Discover it heavily compared to me because I put $9110  over the last three months and  any of the famous message you don't have enough experience at his current credit limit.    I forgot they did lower my APR down from 13.24% to 12.24%  not much but I'll take it.

Re: What's your Discover CLI history?

  • March 2015: 1k starting limit
  • 6/1/15: 1k -> 1.5k
  • 7/9/15: 1.5k -> 5.5k
  • 8/7/15: 5.5k -> 9.5k
  • 9/11/15: 9.5k -> 13.5k
  • 11/9/15: 13.5k -> 17.5k
  • 12/11/15: 17.5k -> 21.5k
  • 2/10/16: 21.5k -> 25.5k

Never imagined I'd have been over 25x my starting limit before my 1 year mark though. Here's to hoping that the increases keep coming!

Re: What's your Discover CLI history?

It's been 1.5 years and I haven't received a CLI from Discover. I got denied my times via love button and the phone. I just paid it off and gonna SD it for a long time. It's my lowest cc and I can't grow with them.

1/16   -  $4500 - $14900

Pretty much illustrates how establishing a relationship with them pays off Smiley Happy

You give me hope! I actually love my Discover card, but it's been the lowest starting limit and the slowest to grow. Hits a year next month, and I just had my last baddie fall off of TU so maybe they will give me a very special anniversary present Smiley LOL

3/15 - SL $500

9/15 +$300 -> $800

11/15 +$500 -> $1300

2/15 +$500 -> $1800

You're looking good! I am certain that baddie falling off will make a big difference. I'm pulling for you and that "special anniversary present" Smiley Wink Good luck!
