Re: What was you first 2k+ limit card?

Exactly 24 years ago this month, Amex gave me a starting CL of $4,100 on an Optima card.  I had opened my first Amex (green, later upgraded to a gold card) in January of that same year (1989).

I had that same $4,100 limit until last year when I asked for my very first CLI on that card.  Now the card is at $25,000....all thanks to the knowledge shared on this forum.  This forum has really opened my eyes....I have learned so much here!

My Wallet: Amex Gold NPSL; Amex Optima Platinum $25K; Amex BCE $12K; Apple Card $20K; BofA Travel Rewards Visa Sig $67.6K; Cap1 Quicksilver Visa Sig $10K; CSP $28.2K; Chase Freedom $13K; Chase Freedom Unlimited $21.4K; Citi Costco Visa $19.3K; Citi Double Cash $13.5K; Citi Simplicity Visa $23.3K; Discover IT $50K; Fidelity Visa $25K; NFCU Flagship Visa Sig $40K; NFCU More Rewards Amex $30K; PenFed Plat Rewards Visa Sig $50K; Sears MC $10.1K; US Bank Altitude Go Visa Sig $20K; US Bank Cash+ Visa Sig $26K; Wells Fargo Rewards Visa Sig $14K

Barclay NFL card.  $2500.  Then did an auto CLI to $4700 6 months later.

I kind of have the "Fog of War" thing going with anything before myFICO and my rebuilding time.  If you want my first CCs with that limit.  It would have either been either:

First USA Visa now Chase or MBNA now BOA.  I can't remember which.  But that was a lifetime ago.  Smiley Wink

Re: What was you first 2k+ limit card?

I think it was my favorite card of all time. MBNA Star Trek card. Sure do miss that card, had it until BofA took over and they no longer offered the Star Trek themes. CL was around 6k

Walmart.

I got a CLI from 800 to 2k on the 4th statement and now it's at 5k! Hopefully I can get a big CLI with DCU and Discover once they hit the 1 year mark.

DCU Platinum: 4000 - Discover IT: 11000 - Walmart: 5000 - AMEX BCP: 18000 - Chase Freedom VS: 5000
