Whatever Discover

Got my "It" package in the mail today.  They pulled Experian.  My score is 829.  Credit limit: $6,375.  What a joke.

In what way? What are your other CLs? I'd love to have a $6000 limit on my Discover card personally. So I'll trade you if you like. Smiley Happy

Re: Whatever Discover

Sorry to hear dude, but you should know Discover is stingier than most with starting limits. Can't win 'em all but it wouldn't hurt to be a little less bratty about it. Some of us here would be happy with that limit. Reading your post made me feel especially bad man. Tears are everywhere.

Credit limits aren't based just on credit score. They also take into account income, other credit available etc. $6K isn't a joke for most. Just take the card and ask for come increases as time goes on. It will go up quickly enough.

Re: Whatever Discover

$6375 is a very odd credit limit.

Re: Whatever Discover

Discover tends to be a little more conservative with starting limits than some other lenders, but score alone isn't the only contributing factor.  Do you have other cards with higher credit limits?  Do you have income to support a higher limit on this card?  Do you have so much credit that they feel that you are already over-extended?
