Re: When to app? Pre or post Mortgage Reporting?

Thanks for the advice all. Nailed down an instant decision with a $3,500 CL on a Freedom. Very happy with the CL, hoping to grow it even further, but plenty happy with 1,500 over my next highest CL. Thought about shooting for more with a recon, but really it was much higher than expected. Considering a Lowe's store card for the 5% since that's my go-to hardware store, but not really sure I want to add yet another HP and new account.

Re: When to app? Pre or post Mortgage Reporting?

Welp, went and did it anyway. Got a Lowe's card approved at $650, but reconned to $2000. Firmly in the garden until who knows when. 1-2 years probably. I've accomplished all I could have wanted in credit land in the last year, and then some. Financed a car, got five new cards, and bought a house. All within 14 months of being in the low 500's. pretty pumped. Thanks for the advice all.

Re: When to app? Pre or post Mortgage Reporting?

Congrats! I'm in a similar boat! Been cleaning credit report for my refi, just signed docs today. Looking to grab a few cards too.

Lowes is great thanks to GE, I've received frequently SP CLI from them. Great choice!

Nice!

Definitely good to get it done same day, Lowes/GE reported the account and HP within three days!
