When will Amex offer EXTRA Delta Miles???

Hey guys I'm sure if anyone knows its you guys. I think I remember seeing a few people saying to wait on transferring points to miles because Amex has specials when you get like 1.5 or 2 miles per point. Is this true, how often and when was the last time?

Amex has historically run transfer bonuses as high as 40-50%, but you'll never find anything even close to 2x (100% bonus). They haven't run any bonuses so far this year, and it doesn't look like they will. Given that there is speculation may Delta will be moving to a revenue-based mileage program, that will virtually destroy any value left in their Skypesos. If it was me, I'd be sitting on the sidelines and watch for now. It doesn't look likely for 2012.
