Re: Where can I use my Care Credit to show some usage without spending a fortune ?

My two cents here...

My wife has one of these cards and we have not used it for 3 years (wisdom teeth - oldest daughter) and it remains open today.

Earlier this week, I read / asked about how to get a CLI. Followed instructions and a CLI was granted - card went from $3k to $18k. Again, this is with no use in three years.

Youngest daughter needs to have her wisdom teeth out this summer so the card will be used then.

I'm not really sure you need to worry about usage on this card?

Re: Where can I use my Care Credit to show some usage without spending a fortune ?

You know, my friend, I had a dry spell of about ten months with them and called to tell them I planned on using it. I was like you and didn't want my account closed for non-use. They seemed surprised that I called, but put a note on my file. Just a thought, particularly since I had already used my card and you have not been able to, yet.

The vet idea in your thread seems like a good one. I didn't think of that at the time.

Good luck with this card. I really like the long term payment option and I use it often at my vet.

Thanks everyone for the good advice , and about the sunglasses great idea , didn't even cross my mind , guess I have labeled this card as you can only use it for drs and procedures type stuff but it seems to have a lot more uses than I thought . Thanks ML I will call and let them know that o do plan to use it as soon as I can get the limit where I need it to be . And RockinRay very good to know that you have kept it active so long with no usage .

I grabbed some glass cleaning cloths from my local Vision Source not too long ago to show some usage.

Another idea, possibly, with a local vet clinic since you don't have any pets....  You could always ask to donate to their "Needy Pet fund"  like $20 or so.  We all ususally have an account  set up for animals that are found, clients can't afford treatments, etc.  That way, you could use your account and you may also be able to write it off?  Just a thought.

Ok credit, getting better.....slowly.... Can't seem to stay in the Garden for any extended period of time. I'm trying. Mid to upper 600's across the board.

Hey guys I have had my CC for about 3 /4 mths now I didn't get the amount I needed to have the work done that I needed so I am gonna try for a CLI later on but I need to show some usage , I have not used the card yet at all and I don't want to get shut down for not using it . I don't have any pets so I can't use it in that manner , I have checked for Rite Aids in my area and there are NONE AT ALL anywhere close. I don't want to spend a lot just to show usage at this point , bc the work I need done will be an all at once kinda deal so I can't break it up into diff apts . Any ideas guys ? Thanks

How long do you have until you try using it as you intended?   IIRC, it seems that CareCredit cards that have never been used seem to be in the most danger after 12 months of non-use.

The optometrist is a good idea.  Some chiropractors take them. I'd recommend using their website and browsing locations near you that take them.

Alternately, why not just go ahead and request the CLI now and don't create an unnecessary expense?

Even a glasses case or a small screw repair kit for sunglasses may be a good option! Good luck, my friend ( still on our celebration trip here!)
