Where can you find out if you can use your card out of US

Can someone tell me where you can locate, when signing in online to your account, if they charge you to use your cc out of the US when traveling?

I'm trying to find out about:

Amex Blue Sky

Bank of America (NCL card)

Walmart Mastercard (use to be their Discover card)

Discover It

Re: Where can you find out if you can use your card out of US

You got a printed credit card agreement with each card. That will have a summary pricing page, and on that summary pricing page, if there is a Foreign Transaction Fee section, it will tell you. You can also search online or go to the credit card marketing website to see this same summary of terms and conditions.

AMEX Blue Sky: 2.7% FTF

BofA - Not sure, but unless it is the Travel card, likely 3%

Walmart, if it is a Discover card, might not, but you'd have to check the terms.

Discover IT, no FTF, however the acceptance overseas is perhaps not a good as MasterCard, VISA, or AMEX.

In your credit card agreement or just google your card's terms and conditions.

I don't think I have any of that anymore which is why I was asking where to find it online. I was logging into my accounts trying to find it and couldn't. I was hoping it would be on there somewhere.  Smiley Sad

So it's the same terms and conditions for everyone on the cards? I guess I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info.

Typically yes unless of course they change the terms. But they'd have to notify you of that by law.

Ooooh, new task for those who keep calling to get the APR reduced!   Now see if you can get a reduction in the FTF......

Was gonna say, APR is one of those exceptions (with certain lenders). Lol.

I just Googled it

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

Bear in mind that with Discover outside the US you probably won't find a Discover sticker per se, but you need to know which other processing networks they have a co-processing arrangement with: http://www.discovernetwork.com/card-network/acceptance.html
