Which Credit Card to apply for...

I currently have 6 active Credit Cards:

Amex Blue Cash

Discover More

BofA Cash Rewards Visa

BofA Vash Rewards Mastercard

Chase Freedom Visa

Chase Freedom Visa(Yea, I have 2)

I am going to apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred in the nexth month and was thinking of adding another Card to go along with it. I currently have no inquiries and looking at a card which has a good rewards program. I was looking at the Amex Premier Rewards card but I don't think I need the 2nd annual fee and it is also a travel rewards card like the Sapphire. My Fico score is 784 and I have 2 % Utilization on my cards. My average length of Credit is 7 years and don't plan on a major house or Car purchase anytime soon. Any suggestions for a good prime card?

Amex Blue 22.7k // Chase Freedom 24.2k // Chase Sapphire preferred 10.7k // Amex Starwood preferred Guest 5k // BofA Cash Rewards Visa 5k // BofA Cash Rewards MC 5k // Discover More 4.2k // Dell Financial Services 7k
Exp 787 // Equifax 784 // Transunion 780

Nice Reelax.  If you are looking to maximize rewards, I would consider the US Bank Cash+ card to fill in 5% categories.  Also, look at JCB Marauki Premium card if on West Coast for up to 3% cash back on everything.  PenFed card for 5% on Gas.  FIA AMEX for 2% cash back on everything.  Finally, if AMEX Blue is old, consider another no annual fee AMEX for backdating to offset new cards (Blue, Blue Sky, Clear, TrueEarnings, Hilton Honors).  Or maybe AMEX charge card with minimal annual fee like Zync for managing utilization during any credit approval process (mortgage, auto, credit card).

Crash: Isn't the 2% CB on everything from Fidelity?  FIA is the card issuer for BOFA's cards at least and maybe others, thought they were completely seperate?

Starting Score: EQ 561, TU 567, EX 599* (12/30/11, EX lender pull 12/29/11)
Current Score: EQ 660, Wally TU 697, EX unknown (05/13/13)
Goal Score: 680 in all three (01/01/14)

Yes I meant the Fidelity but I think it is issued by FIA.

I wouldn't apply for FIA card if you have 2 BofA cards already. They might took portion of CL from one of BofA cards to open Fidelity Amex. I don't think it is a good idea apply for another one. I think US Bank Cash+ is better.

Fidelity is just the name attached to it. FIA is who approves, provides customer service, and gives the rewards. I think it is a great choice to have since it is 2% everywhere instead of on silly categories. Even if they do reduce the limit on another card I would do it. The Bank of Trash rewards card is not that great in my opinion.

The American Express Everyday is also a good choice for groceries at 3% and 2% at department stores and gas stations.

The US Bank card looks like a good choice but it seems to me it will not last that long. 5% at such popular categories and a $25 bonus for each $100 redeemed as a gift card is just setting them up to lose money.

Re: Which Credit Card to apply for...

Won't an American Express charge card improve my overall credit profile in the long run? I am looking hard at the Gold premier rewards card at 175 annual fee and The regular gold card at 125 annual fee. I don't think I will spend enough on a Platinum because of my CSP.

Re: Which Credit Card to apply for...

US Bank is my primary card now. It replaces my Cap1 BB RZMC Platinum, Costco Amex. I used it everyday during the trip in LA.
