Which card should I apply for

Just checked my scores this morning and they are 619-TU & 664-EQ.  I still have 3 collections reporting on TU.  I've done really well in getting my score up but now I need to add a card to my credit (my husband and I will be purchasing a home next year).  Any suggestions on the best card to apply for?  I was thinking about bank of america.

Thanks for your advice!

Are the 3 collections reporting ONLY on TU?

How recent and how much are the collections?

The most recent is June 2010 from Verizon(370).  The others are medical bills from 06 and 07 (200 combined)

Thanks.

Re: Which card should I apply for

Have you tried posting in the Rebuilding forum and learning about PFD those tradelines?

I would start with something small, maybe a retail card like WalMart or Kohls, somewhere that you shop anyways and could use a discount. Those are best applied for in store.  The other thing I could see you being approved for would be a card like Cap 1 Platinum where they may start you off with a small limit like $750 which may never be increased, but at least will help you build good solid payment history.
