Which card should I get?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a house in Feb-Mar and have begun starting to repair my credit. After my divorce, I never thought this would be possible without filing bankrupcy.  I currently have four store cards with limits ranging from $250-$300.  I also thought that was never possible.  My score have gone from 480 to 603. Although this is considered "fair", I'm so happy with the progress.  I would like to wait until around September to apply for my first major credit card. i dont intend to use it, but figured it would help my score. I try to maintain minimal debt in the cards I do have, just enough to report activity. other than capital one, what majot credit card would you recommend?  I dont want to apply for capital one because that is one I had with my exhusband and I was recently able to have it removed from my credit.  Even if it's removed, do they still keep records of me? I'm sorry about so many questions. I appreciate any input.  thanks!

Unfortunately, there isn't one, quick answer because everybody's credit profile is different. You will have to do your research and take the time to read but the good thing is that you have plenty of time until September so you don't have to do it all at once.

And welcome to the forums. Please keep us posted as your journey progresses - you will have the opportunity to help others and be helped. People need to know what worked for you and what didn't. Also, these boards are a great place for encouragement. You have a bit of a road ahead of you but the good news is that it is all doable.
