Chase freedom is great for the 5% cash back and if you can get a decent CL with Slate then use it to transfer high balanced credit cards to enjoy the 18 month 0% APR Slate offers. After that 18 month 0% APR its pretty useless card other than the look hahha.

I pre-qualified for both just now... NO IDEA how to decipher offers and tell which are better.
I thought freedom was for cash back, and slate was for balance transfer ? So i guess its up to you what you need your card for ?

Is there a way to convert the card down the road to Sapphire? Or is it once a Freedom always a Freedom...?
i am not sure if you can but if i were you i wouldn't do that , i would just get csp paired with freedom since they share UR points. So you can get 5% with freedom and then apply that to your UR pool of points. At least that is how it supposed to go from what i understand.

You wouldn't want to convert it. You would want to have them both to use the 5x categories of the freedom during the year to convert to valuable CSP UR points. Plus the sign up bonus you would miss if you just pc'd it.
