Re: Who are you using for Gas Rewards this Quarter? LOL

My brother has the Discover IT card which he will be using. I got the Chase Freedom card. Glad it's kicked in, cause my new job is going to be requiring about a 25 mile commute one way. Probably be filling up every week.

For the past 9 months, after Chase's gas quarter ends, Walmart kicks in their "15 cents" off gas for their Discover card which my mom owns. Works out pretty well.

Current Cards:
AMEX Blue Cash Preferred (5/2013): CL - $9,900
Chase Sapphire Preferred (7/2013): CL - $8,700
Chase Freedom (8/2012): CL - $4,000
Chase Freedom (7/2007): CL - $1,300

Re: Who are you using for Gas Rewards this Quarter? LOL

Is there a specific reason why those of you with both the Freedom and Discover IT are choosing the Discover? Better rewards redemption?

BoA Secured $500 (closed) | OneStopPlus $900 | Chase Amazon $2300 (AU) | Amex BCE $6000 |
Chase Freedom $3000 | BoA TravelRewards Signature Visa $5000 | CSP $11 000 | BCP $8000
Building credit since 04/2011 | CreditKarma 724 | CreditSesame 750 | Gardening since 01/31/2014

Discover has nice "bonuses" for certain GC redemption.

Plus, not everyone travel, so the Freedom would really just be a 1ccp card if it's redeemed for cashback.

Wish I still got the extra 10% for Chase checking, anyway I will more than likely have my Chase as #1 and Discover as a backup, I probably will be over $1500 for gas for those 3 months, I guess I better keep a spreadsheet of all gas purchases on each card so once I am up to my limit to switch cards

I never worry about the cap because I'm the only person who uses my card & I drive a Kia. The most I spend on gas in a month is $160.

I guess I'll use the Discover, just because I like the company a bit more than Chase. :smileywink:

No other reason...

Discover IT because they gave me a HUGE AUTO CLI in May. $1250--->>$6300 having used the card once or twice in previous 12 months. Gotta show them some love back.
