I recently was approved for Nordstrom card via a recon just last week, but I found it strange that in the mail today I received a letter which basically does show my account number, and the summary of the credit report they pulled.  They pulled EQ and it shows my score was 650 out of range 300-850.  The strange thing is there is nothing else attached, nor is the card with it??? On my recent approval from Citi Thank you I did get the same letter (or something like it) but it came along with the credit card.

Is this standard practice for those that have received a Nordstrom card recently?  Also, in looking at their scoring for EQ it seems they are using MyFico scoring?

Your card is in the mail!! :smileyvery-happy:

:smileyhappy::smileyhappy:, I think you knew exactly where I was going!  After that recon I was already thinking :smileysurprised: oh no they changed their minds!

If you don't mind me asking, what's the CL for your card? I'm going to app for Nordstrom in 6 mos, waiting for my inquiries to fall off and new ones to age as I read that Nordstrom is picky with inquiries regardless of score

I was approved after a recon for $1k, of course they were very nice about even saying that I can call back if I need to make a bigger purchase or for a CLI in 6 months.  I had applied for the Visa which is their signature card (knew it was a long stretch), but they told me that they start their Visa S. Cards with at $5 CL, but certainly can all as time has passed to see if I could be upgraded.

What are your scores?  They are sensitive to inquiries that is for sure!  I was denied for too many inquiries mainly and high credit limit ratio to over CL.  I had 5 inquiries in the last 6 months but 3 were due to utilities (just moved) and the other 2 were from car shopping.

my equifax is 644, so close to yours, im thinking about apping but had 5-6 inquiries as well, what did you tell them when you reconned? 2 from car shopping and 2 from furniture stores when we moved 8 months back, my uti is very low though 1% according to credit karma. basically we are identical.

Re: Who received recent Nordstrom card in the mail?

Is that EQ score from my fico or somewhere else?  How soon will some of the inquiries fall off?  Are the inquiries on EQ? If you search for the other thread I had started on my recon you will get a lot of great info!  I ended up emailing a letter to Mr. Nordstrom and received a great response.
