I figured I would spread some inspiration throughout the forum this evening.
I have the BofA Accelerated Rewards Amex card with a 4 year history. The previous credit limit was $15K. Today, I decided to call the backdoor # to speak with an analyst. I asked for a credit line increase but didn't request a specific amount. She put me on a brief hold, came back and said she was happy to give me a $10K increase for a total credit line of $25K! In addition, my APR is now less than 4% for the next 12 months.
Here's what my credit profile looks like:
* No baddies
* No new accounts opened within the last 90 days
* 12 inquiries on Experian; 2 or 3 of which were in the last 6 months - A BofA analyst once told me they don't even look at inquiries as part of their credit granting process
* 25% utilization - Not ideal but still a very good cushion of credit available
* A mortgage reporting for almost 12 months now - I believe this definitely helps credit approvals
