Like a lot of people, I'm looking to use Zync as a way to get my foot in the Amex door. I'm patiently waiting until the time is ripe to apply. But a lot of people use Zync to develop a relationship with Amex.
Oh, and the card looks sweet!
laboi based on everything I have found the 10,000 point promotion is over, unless I'm missing something?

It is clearly listed on the Zync information page. See the link above. 10,000 MR points after your first purchase. This is on all new accounts.
So, to summarize.
1. Zync is good for getting a foot in the door with AMEX
2. Annual Fees aren't always bad. One example of this is if you can make more money back (cash back, other benefits) with an AF card than a non AF card.
3. Prestige of AMEX
I apologize laboi, but maybe you are looking at different page than me? When I click on that link, I see absolutely no mention of any 10,000 points.

No apologies necessary. I rechecked and it's not there today. My mistake. I guess they ended the promotion. Still in all it only costs 2600 points to pay the $25 annual fee. Surely you will spend enough to build that up plus more.
